Recruitment closed for 2022/23
This programme is for teachers who have a passion and enthusiasm for teaching for mastery, and a desire to develop as a specialist teacher of primary maths.
During the first year of the programme - the specialist training year - participating teachers will attend three two-day residential professional development events and work closely with colleagues to establish and embed mastery in their own schools.
In the second and subsequent years, training will shift to develop Mastery Specialists in their role of working with other schools, including leading Work Groups, and supporting their own and other schools to develop, embed and sustain teaching for mastery.
The Mastery Specialist Programme is now in its sixth year. The programme is aimed at developing the necessary skills and expertise for participants to be awarded the status of Primary Mastery Specialist. It is also expected that the Master Specialist's school becomes a leading exponent of teaching for mastery in this time.
Year 1: Develop their own practice and implement across their own school.
Year 2+: Work with other schools, facilitating TRGs & undertaking supportive school visits.
